1st set (25-22, EMU)
After falling behind 5-2 early in the match, the Rockets scored the next seven points to take a 9-5 lead over EMU. The Eagles responded with a long run of their own, scoring the next eight points to move ahead by four, 13-9. Both scoring runs were fueled by sluggish starts offensively, as both Toledo and Eastern Michigan were hitting below -.200 heading into the media timeout. The Rockets pulled within one of the Eagles, 18-17, after a 3-0 run capped by an ace from Abby Ray, but they wouldn't get any closer. EMU would go on to win the first set, 25-22, to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
2nd set (25-13, EMU)
Eastern Michigan took an early lead in the second set, jumping out to a 10-3 lead to put Toledo in an early hole. EMU would go on to dominate the second stanza, winning 25-13 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Rockets pulled within four at one point, 13-9, but that's as close as they would get in the second frame. Eastern Michigan did not trail at all en route to a 25-13 win to go up 2-0 in the match. Eastern Michigan's April Houston recorded five blocks in the second set.
3rd Set (25-19, EMU)
Toledo took an early lead this time, scoring the first three points of the set with a kill from Erickson sandwiched between two terminations from Alt. With the score tied at 8-8, however, Eastern Michigan rattled off a 7-0 run to take a commanding 15-8 lead. The Eagles' advantage grew to double figures at 23-13, before the Rockets were able to make up some ground. Toledo used a 6-1 run to stay alive at 24-19, but Eastern Michigan's Raeven Chase made a good play at the net to  record the kill and the game-clinching point in her team's 3-0 win.
