TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's basketball team (10-3, 5-0 MAC) looks to maintain its perfect start to the Mid-American Conference season and extend its seven-game win streak when it hosts Eastern Michigan (3-3, 1-2 MAC) on Tuesday, Jan. 12. The Rockets and Eagles will tip it off at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena with the contest being streamed on ESPN3.
Toledo is currently tied at the top of the league standings with Bowling Green with a 5-0 mark. The Rockets' 5-0 start to the MAC season is their best since going 7-0 in the 2006-07 campaign.
Six Rockets scored in double figures in Toledo's dominating 95-78 win over Ohio last Friday. Senior
Marreon Jackson topped the balanced attack with 18 points, in addition to registering six rebounds, six assists and four steals. The Rockets shot a season-high 61.8 percent from the field and knocked down 12-of-27 shots (44.4 percent) from three-point range.
Jackson leads the Rockets offensively with 16.2 ppg, 5.0 apg, 1.9 spg and a 95.8 FT% (No. 5 nationally). Freshman
Ryan Rollins ranks second in scoring at 14.4 ppg, while junior
Setric Millner Jr. is third with 13.7 ppg and a team-best 7.2 rpg. Senior
Spencer Littleson is also averaging in double digits with 12.6 ppg and a team-best 46.7 three-point FG%.
Eastern Michigan is coming off a 71-59 home win over Akron on Saturday, its first game since Dec. 29. The Eagles lead the MAC with 12.0 spg, 20.0 turnovers forced per game and a plus-7.7 turnover margin.
Toledo posted a 91-74 win at EMU on Dec. 4 in its MAC opener, with Jackson leading the way with 20 points.
