TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo assistant coach Grace Park has resigned to become an assistant golf professional at Sand Point Country Club in Seattle, Wash.

"I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jenny," Park said. "Coming to Toledo and being given this opportunity to work with the program and Toledo has truly been an honor. This team means a lot to me, and I wish them all the very best this season and beyond."

Park joined the Rockets' program last May following a standout career at the University of Illinois. She was an All-Big Ten First-Team selection for the Fighting Illini as a senior in the 2017-18 campaign and set school records for best stroke averages in a season (72.16) and career (74.59).

"We are thrilled for Grace to earn this opportunity!" Head Coach Jenny Coluccio said. "Grace is a wonderful person and our program will miss her in many ways. We support her and know she will continue to thrive in Seattle."

Coluccio said she believes her team can learn a lot about Park's departure as they grow as individuals.

"While we are sad to see her leave us, this journey has been a great example for our team," Coluccio said. "It's given them a chance to witness that opportunity knocks anytime, whether we are hoping for it to or have no expectations of it to be there. Being brave to welcome and accept the opportunity to move upward in our personal and professional lives is vital to our development."

Coluccio said that a national search for Park's replacement will begin following the Rockets' 2019-20 campaign.
