Toledo, Ohio — The Toledo baseball team will head down to Athens this weekend to face Mid-American Conference foe Ohio in a three-game series.

Friday's game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch, Saturday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m., and the series will conclude with a 1:00 p.m. game on Sunday. Links for live stats and live streams are below and, as always, follow along on Twitter at @ToledoBaseball for any and all updates.

Last Time Out
The Rockets dropped both of their midweek contests this week, falling at home to Dayton, 12-9, on Tuesday and at Youngstown State, 5-3, on Wednesday.

In the Dayton game, the Flyers scored their 12 runs on just four hits, while UT pounded out 12 hits but walked a season-high 15 batters. Dayton took an early 4-0 lead after scoring four in the top of the first, and appeared to blow the game open with a five-run sixth inning. Trailing 12-4, Toledo plated five runs in the bottom of the ninth, all with two outs, and had the tying run come to the plate. That proved to be too little too late for the Rockets.

Against YSU, the Penguins scored first, taking a 4-0 lead before the Rockets got a run on the scoreboard. UT did score twice in the sixth and once in the ninth, and had the go-ahead run at the plate multiple times in the final inning, but wasn't able to complete the comeback.

Toledo took two out of three in the season series against Ohio in 2018.
Darryn Davis leads all freshmen in the MAC in hitting (.372).
Ryan Thompson hit two home runs in the game against Dayton, the first Rocket to achieve that feat since Ross Adolph (4/15/18).
Layne Schnitz-Paxton has held opponents to a 1.95 ERA in his last five starts.

Scouting the Competition
Ohio enters the weekend with a record of 8-22 and a 3-6 ledger in conference play, most recently suffering a series sweep at Northern Illinois. The team's top hitter is Rudy Rott, who is hitting .350 with six home runs and 27 RBIs while getting on base at a .409 clip. The Bobcats are hitting .230 as a team and have tallied 251 strikeouts to just 90 walks. OU has a team ERA of 5.62 and its starting rotation is led by Jack Liberatore, who has made eight starts and sports a 2.95 ERA in 39.2 innings.
