Toledo, Ohio— The Toledo baseball team opens up Mid-American Conference action this weekend with a three-game series at Bowling Green.

The series will begin with a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 12:05 p.m., and will conclude with a Sunday afternoon game at 1:05 p.m. The series opener, originally scheduled for Friday afternoon, was cancelled due to field conditions. This will be the fifth doubleheader for the Rockets this season.

Toledo went 2-1 at the Spider Invitational last weekend, defeating Quinnipiac and Bryant and falling to Richmond. The Rockets won a wild 10-inning affair against the Bobcats that was capped by a walk-off single from
Darryn Davis who tallied a career-high five hits. UT finished the weekend with a 6-2 win over the Bulldogs, during which
Layne Schnitz-Paxton tossed seven shutout innings and struck out seven.

- Brad Boss has reached base in all 18 games this season. He leads the Rockets with 10 multi-hit games. His 31 hits are tied for most in the MAC, he is tied for second with nine doubles, and ranks third in batting average (.392) and runs scored (20).
- Rocket batters have been hit by a pitch 29 times, the most in the conference. Chris Meyers has been plunked a league-high seven times.
- Layne Schnitz-Paxton is 2-0 in his last three starts, posting a 1.42 ERA in 19.0 innings during that time, along with a 19/4 strikeout/walk ratio.
- Michael Jacob leads the MAC with 33.0 innings pitched.
Scouting the Competition
Bowling Green is 4-12 entering this weekend, its most recent game being a 9-2 loss at Purdue. BGSU is hitting. 227 as a team and the pitching staff is sporting a 5.69 team ERA. The Falcons are led at the plate by Brad Croy, who is hitting .342 and slugging .447. Neil Lambert (.339) is the only other player hitting above .300 for Bowling Green. Tyler Hays leads the team in several pitching categories, including innings pitched (26.1), strikeouts (33), and batting average against (.174).
