Last Time Out
Toledo enters this weekend 2-1 after taking two out of three games from Winthrop on opening weekend. Both of UT's victories were of the comeback variety, with a ninth-inning comeback on opening day and an eighth-inning comeback in the series finale securing the series. In game one, the Rockets were trailing 4-2 in the top of the ninth, but scored three runs to clinch a 5-4 win. Toledo trailed, 5-3, entering the eighth inning in game three, but once again the Midnight Blue and Gold were able to come back, plating five runs en route to an 8-7 win.

Chris Meyers Named MAC Player of the Week
Meyers led the Rockets at the plate over the weekend, hitting .538 during the three-game series at Winthrop. He reached base at least three times in all three games and helped UT take two out of three contests against the Eagles. Meyers tallied a career-high four hits in game two of the series, including a two-run home run, and had the go-ahead RBI in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Rocket Notes
- Toledo was the only MAC team to leave the opening weekend with a winning record. It's the first time since 2012 that UT has had a winning record on opening weekend.
- The Rockets are leading the league in batting average (.296) and on-base percentage (.389) through the first week of games.
- Individually, Riley Campbell led all MAC hitters with a .636 on-base percentage. John Servello tied for the league lead with five runs scored.
- Last season, the Rockets had just four wins when trailing after seven innings. This year, they already have two such victories.
Scouting the Competition
Lipscomb is 2-1 entering Thursday's game, having gone 1-1 against Valparaiso on opening weekend followed be a 3-1 win against Western Kentucky on Tuesday. Last year, Lipscomb finished with an overall record of 24-30 and 9-12 in Atlantic Sun Conference play. This was the first time in four seasons where the Bisons ended with a sub-500 record. They were picked to finish seventh in the ASUN preseason poll.
Middle Tennessee is also 2-1 entering play this weekend, having won two out of three against Bowling Green. The Blue Raiders finished 27-27-1 in 2018, with a 12-17 mark in Conference-USA games. Senior outfielder Blake Benefield was named to the preseason CUSA All-Conference team after hitting .278 and driving in 44 runs last year.
Austin Peay was swept at home by Kentucky to start the season. The Governors went 30-27 in 2018, including a three-game sweep of the Rockets in the second weekend of the season last year. Junior Park Phillips was a Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-America honoree. Phillips tied the program's single-season home run record (17) last season and was invited to the College Home Run Derby in Omaha during the summer.
Belmont was swept at home by Illinois State last weekend, surrendering at least 10 runs in each game. In the season opener, the Bruins allowed 16 runs in the 11th inning to fall to the Redbirds, 27-11. Senior pitcher Casey Queener was named to the 2019 Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference squad, and Belmont was picked to finish seventh in the league.
