OXFORD, Ohio - Toledo (9-3, 1-0 MAC) will begin a stretch of three of four games away from home on Wednesday, Jan. 9 when it ventures to MAC East Division foe Miami (9-3, 0-1 MAC). Tip-off time is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Millett Hall and will be shown on ESPN+.
UT, which is No. 23 in the most recent collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, enters tomorrow's contest in the midst of a three-game winning streak and has won seven of its last eight contests overall. Most recently, the Midnight Blue & Gold came away with a 65-58 home victory over Ball State on Saturday in its MAC opener before 3,473 fans in Savage Arena.Â

Nakiah Black led three Rockets in double figures with a season-high 19 points against the Cardinals, including a sparkling 5-of-7 shooting effort from three-point range. Junior
Mariella Santucci added 14 points and five assists, including four free throws in the final minute that helped seal the home victory. Senior
Kaayla McIntyre also contributed 11 points and eight rebounds to the Rockets' triumph.Â
In addition, Toledo benefited from eight points, seven caroms and a game-tying high five helpers from senior
Mikaela Boyd to claim its third win against the Cardinals (5-8, 0-1 MAC) over the last four meetings. Boyd also became the 29th player in school history to surpass the 1,000-career point mark. Â
As a team, UT shot a respectable 45.8 percent (22-of-48) from the floor, including a season-tying best 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from behind the arc, to snap a three-game losing skid in MAC openers.Â
One of the keys for Toledo winning three-straight games has been the play of its offense. The Rockets are shooting a sparkling 50.0 percent (83-of-166) from the field, including 44.4 percent (16-of-36) from three-point land, and averaging 74.0 points.
Individually, Black is tallying a team-high 16.3 ppg during this stretch, connecting on a splendid 61.3 percent (19-of-31) from the floor.
Overall this year, UT possesses a balanced attack with McIntyre, Santucci, Boyd and Black averaging 14.8, 10.9, 9.8 and 7.8 ppg, respectively. This quartet accounts for 63.9 percent (512-of-801) of Toledo's scoring.
UT will square off against a Miami team that suffered an 82-71 road setback at Northern Illinois on Saturday in its MAC opener. Savannah Kluesener and 2017-18 first-team All-MAC selection Lauren Dickerson paced the RedHawks with 27 and 25 points against the Huskies, respectively.
Miami features an offense with four players scoring in double figures, led by Dickerson's 15.1 ppg and a MAC-best 5.9 apg. The RedHawks are a perfect 4-0 at home this season.
Toledo and MU will meet for the first of two contests this year and 65th time overall. The cross-division rivals will also square off on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.Â
The Rockets lead the all-time series, 38-26, winning 11 of the last 12 match-ups since the 2008-09 campaign.
A season ago, UT dropped a 67-58 road decision against the RedHawks to lose for the first time in the series since March 14, 2008 in the MAC Tournament Semifinals. Â
Miami holds a slim 17-14 edge in games played in Millett Hall, but Toledo has won five of the last six meetings away from home.
Following tomorrow's MAC contest, the Rockets will host East Division foe Kent State (8-4, 1-0 MAC) on Saturday, Jan. 12. The opening tip against the Golden Flashes is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and will be streamed on ESPN3.Â
UT and KSU will meet for the only time during the regular season and 74th time overall. Toledo leads the all-time series, 42-31, but has lost three of the last four match-ups against its cross-division rival. The Rockets also hold a 20-11 advantage in games played in Lucas County. Â Â
A year ago, UT dropped a 62-55 home decision against the Golden Flashes during the regular season to snap a 15-game home winning streak (Jan. 24). The cross-division foes also squared off in the opening round of the conference tourney, with UT suffering an 80-76 overtime home setback (March 5).
