Toledo, Ohio - The University of Toledo men's tennis team finished the Rocket Invitational with a pair of wins over Duquesne on Sunday. 

Opening the day's play, senior Luka Vitosevic defeated Duquesne's Joey Matthews in two sets (6-4, 7-6(2)) while senior Serjen Olmedo defeated Graham Conron in three hard-fought matches (6-2, 6-7(7), 10-8). 

In the second session, Tyler Gargas defeated Youngstown State's Yossi Dahan 6-4, 7-5. Youngstown State's Erik Gran defeated senior Omar Espinosa in three sets (7-6, 0-6, 10-7) and the Penguins' Vasilis Vardakis/Luke Purser defeated freshman/junior duo Cole Shoults/Thawin Suksathaporn (6-1, 6-4)

"I think that this was a productive start to our year," said head coach Al Wermer. "We have a lot of work to do and a long way to go, but most importantly our players are very motivated and they are pushing each other and are focused on common goals."

Senior Vince Anzalone and junior Danilo Vukotic were named to the All-Tournament team for the Rockets.

The Rockets hit the court next at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind., Oct. 5-7.
