DeKalb, Ill.— Toledo's chance at a series sweep was spoiled with a 12-4 loss at Northern Illinois.
After posting a comeback, extra-innings win on Friday and a dominant shutout on Saturday, the Rockets were unable to keep up with the Huskies' bats on Sunday. NIU scored a run in six of its eight innings, including a game-high four in the bottom of the eighth.
