Toledo, Ohio— The Toledo baseball team fell to Kent State on Saturday, 4-2.

At the plate, Seniors
Dalton Bollinger and

The series with first-place Kent State concludes on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Scott Park.
How it Happened
- Toledo took its first lead of the weekend in the bottom of the first and both runs came with two outs. Junior Ross Adolph singled up the middle then stole second base, and scored on Bollinger's double down the line in left field.
- Montoya singled in Bollinger and put the Rockets up 2-0. The Rockets' first baseman scored easily from second when the throw from the outfield was well off the mark.
- Kent State didn't wait long to chip into Toledo's lead. An RBI ground out made the score 2-1 in the top of the second.
- The Golden Flashes tied it up at 2-2 with an RBI double in the top of the fourth.
- With two outs in the top of the fifth, Kent State drove in the go-ahead run on an infield single. Freshman Trace Hatfield made a terrific diving effort to keep a ground ball from going to the outfield, but KSU's Nick Kanavas, one of the fastest players on the team, still scored easily from second base.
- Kent State scored an insurance run in the eighth to make the score 4-2. UT was lucky just one run came in to score in an inning that featured three walks and two wild pitches.
- Ryan's two-out single in the bottom of the ninth gave Toledo one last chance, but the Rockets were unable to capitalize.
