Toledo Hosting Cleveland State in 2:00 p.m. Saturday Matinee

        TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo (6-1) continues its three-game homestand in Savage Arena on Saturday, Dec. 1 with a 2:00 p.m. matchup vs. Cleveland State (2-6). The Rockets are ranked No. 16 in this week's collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Poll and bring a four-game win streak into the contest following Wednesday's 80-59 victory over North Alabama.     
UT limited the Lions to just 37.1 percent shooting from the field, marking the third straight game UT has held its opponent under 38 percent. Junior Luke Knapke led four Rockets in double figures with 18 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Joining Knapke in double digits were senior Nate Navigato (17 pts.), senior Jaelan Sanford (13 pts.) and junior Willie Jackson (11 pts.).
        Jackson also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and two steals en route to his fourth double-double of the season. His work on the boards helped UT own the glass by a 40-29 margin.
        Cleveland State is winless in three road games following Wednesday's 83-73 setback at DePaul. The Rockets registered a 77-62 victory over the Vikings last year to extend their winning streak in the series to four games.
        Sophomore Tyree Appleby leads CSU with 14.1 ppg, 4.6 apg and 1.5 spg and scored 15 points last year against the Rockets.
 
POST TOUCHES
•   Toledo's 6-1 start is its best since winning its first 12 games in 2013-14 season.
•   Toledo ranks in the Top 15 nationally in both 3PTFG% (43.4/11th) and FT% (78.8/12th) and is only school in nation to appear in Top 15 of each category.
•   Nate Navigato moved into second place on the Rockets' all-time three-point list with 244 triples after knocking down 5-of-8 from downtown vs. North Alabama. Navigato is tied for third in the MAC with 2.9 treys per game and fifth with a 51.3 three-point FG%.
•   Toledo dished out 25 assists vs. North Alabama for its most since tallying 28 vs. Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 19, 2015. Sophomore Marreon Jackson set the pace with seven helpers with Navigato and Jaelan Sanford each collecting a season-high six.
•   UT shot 50.8 percent from the field vs. UNA, the fifth time this year it has made at least half its shots. Toledo also knocked down a season-high 14-of-29 three-point attempts (48.3%).
•   UT leads the MAC with 10.3 treys per game and is also first in FT% (78.8) and 3PTFG% (43.4).
•   Four Rockets rank in the MAC's Top 15 in 3PTFG% — Luke Knapke (57.9/2nd), Nate Navigato (51.3/5th), Chris Darrington (47.6/8th) and Jaelan Sanford (43.8/13th).
•   Jaelan Sanford ranks fifth and eighth in the MAC with 18.8 ppg and 85.7 FT%, respectively. The Evansville, Ind. native ranks 14th on UT's all-time scoring list with 1,402 points.
•   Marreon Jackson is tied for first in the MAC with 5.4 assists per game.
•   Luke Knapke ranks second in the MAC with a 57.9 three-point FG% (11-of-19) third with a 64.6 FG% (31-of-48) and fourth with an 88.9 FT% (16-of-18). Knapke scored a career-best 20 points at Wright State (Nov. 14) thanks to a 6-of-6 effort behind the three-point arc.
•   Willie Jackson has four double-doubles this season and eight in 27 career games as a Rocket. Jackson ranks third in the MAC with 9.7 rpg and fourth with a 62.0 FG% (31-of-50).
•   Chris Darrington comes off the bench with a 9.6 scoring mark. Darrington has a 48.6 FG% (18-of-37), a 47.6 three-point FG% (10-of-21) and a 75.0 FT% (21-of-28). He leads the Rockets in free throws made (21) and free throws attempted (28).

SOME TEAM STATISTICAL TIDBITS
•   Toledo has seven different players shooting 75.0 percent or better from the free-throw line with each of those individuals making at least eight trips to the charity stripe.
•   Toledo is 8-2 in games decided by five points or less since the start of last season.
•   Toledo is undefeated in its six games that it has outrebounded its opponent.
•   Four or more Rockets have scored in double digits in six of seven games.
•   UT has shot 75.0 percent or better from the free-throw line in six of seven games.
•   At least five different Rockets have connected on three-point field goals in six of seven games. The only game that didn't happen was vs. Wilberforce (Nov. 10).

LAST YEAR VS. CLEVELAND STATE
        Another strong defensive performance and some red-hot second-half shooting propelled Toledo to a comfortable 77-62 victory at Horizon League foe Cleveland State. The Rockets limited the Vikings to a 39.3 field-goal percentage for the game and pulled away thanks to a 70.8 shooting mark after halftime.
        Jaelan Sanford paced UT offensively with 20 points and also dished out a team-high six assists with just one turnover. Joining Sanford in double figures were Nate Navigato (13 pts.), Luke Knapke (12 pts.) and Willie Jackson (12 pts.). The quartet keyed Toledo's torrid second-half shooting by combining to connect on 15-of-19 (78.9 percent) field-goal attempts.
        Jackson and Knapke each grabbed a team-high eight rebounds as well, spurring the Rockets to a 38-26 advantage on the glass. That continued a recent trend for UT as it possesses a plus-7.6 rebounding margin over its last five contests.
        Toledo shot 52.6 percent from the field, 10-of-25 (40.0 percent) from three-point range and were 7-of-10 from the charity stripe.
        Tyree Appleby led Cleveland State with 15 points.
 
DEFENSE! DEFENSE!
        Toledo ranks in the top four of the Mid-American Conference in each of the three primary defensive categories. The Rockets are tied for second in three-point FG% defense (29.4), third in scoring defense (67.6) and fourth in field-goal percentage defense (40.2).
        UT has held each of its last four opponents to five three-point field goals or less and a 24.4 3PTFG% (19-of-78). Toledo also has held each of its last three opponents to a 38.0 FG% or lower.
