TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo (8-11, 0-6 MAC) dropped a 5-2 battle to Ball State (18-2, 6-0 MAC) on Sunday afternoon at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts.
"We gave Ball State everything they could handle but we came up just short," said Head Coach
Tracy Mauntler. "We played great doubles but just couldn't close it out. We continued to battle hard in singles so I'm very proud of our fight today."
UT and Ball State each tallied a 6-3 win in the doubles competition, but the Rockets ultimately fell short in a 7-6 (6) fight on Court 1 and lost the doubles point.
In singles play, juniorÂ
Sidnay Huck downed Payton Gollhofer in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 2 spot. Freshman Dee dee Leenabanchong lost her opening set to Rebecca Herrington on Court 4 but fought back to win the following frames, 6-1, 6-3, and claim her match.

Colleen O'Brien dropped their first sets but forced the match into three frames by winning Set 2. Both Rockets were edged by Ball State in the third set.
