Toledo to Host High-Scoring CMU on CBS Sports Network on Friday at 6 p.m.

QUICK HITTERS
•  Toledo (14-14, 7-8 MAC) looks to rebound from Tuesday's disappointing 61-56 (OT) setback to Western Michigan when it battles another MAC West Division foe, Central Michigan (16-12, 6-9 MAC), on Friday, Feb. 24. Tip-off time in Savage Arena is set for 6:00 p.m. with the game being televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network.
•  Friday's contest vs. CMU will have major implications for UT in its quest to host a first-round game in the 2017 MAC Tournament. The Rockets lead the Chippewas by one game in the league standings and need a victory to hold the tiebreaker vs. CMU.
•  The Rockets, who are tied for third place in the MAC's West Division with Northern Illinois, saw a 15-point second-half lead disappear for a third-straight game in their setback to the Broncos. Senior forward Steve Taylor, Jr., who paced the Rockets with 17 points and tied his career high and Savage Arena record with 23 rebounds, had a chance to win the game for UT in regulation but his 15-foot jumper rimmed out.
•  Senior guard Jonathan Williams ranks third in the MAC with a team-high 19.7 ppg. He also leads UT with an 81.0 FT%, 124 FTs made and 153 FTs attempted and is averaging a team-best 3.9 apg in league play.
•  Taylor ranks second in team scoring with 15.7 ppg to go along with a MAC-best 12.4 rpg and a team-high 3.6 apg. He sits third nationally in rebounding (through Feb. 22) and second with 10.0 defensive rpg (just behind Purdue's Caleb Swanigan's total of 10.2). In addition, Taylor's 20 double-doubles rank third in the nation.
•  Sophomore guard Jaelan Sanford is also a double-digit scorer for the Rockets with 13.9 ppg and is playing a team-high 36.0 mpg. In league play, he is averaging 14.6 ppg and 3.7 apg with a 52.4 FG%, 50.0 3PTFG% and 2.1 assist/turnover ratio.
•  As a team, Toledo ranks second in the MAC with 80.1 ppg and is first with a 48.4 FG% (23rd nationally) and 16.1 apg. UT leads the MAC in league play with a 49.1 FG% and 17.1 apg.
•  The Rockets have tied a national record with eight overtime games that was previously held by Western Kentucky (1978), Portland (1984) and Valparaiso (1993). UT's previous record for overtime games was five in the 1971-72 campaign.
• The Chippewas are in the midst of a season-long four-game losing streak with their last three setbacks coming on their home floor. In the national rankings, CMU sits second with 12.7 three-point field goals per game, third with 89.0 ppg and fourth with a 78.4 FT%.
•  Junior guard Marcus Keene leads the nation with 29.8 ppg, while senior guard Braylon Rayson ranks second in the MAC with 20.8 ppg.

POST-GAME NOTES FROM UT'S 61-56 (OT) LOSS TO WESTERN MICHIGAN
•  Three of the last four meetings between Toledo and Western Michigan in Savage Arena have gone to overtime with the Broncos winning two of those contests.
UT suffered its third straight loss to WMU and is 3-8 in its last 11 games of the series.
•  UT's record fell to 10-7 when leading at halftime and 13-4 when leading with five minutes to play.
•  Toledo is 12-7 when grabbing more rebounds than its opponent.
•  The Rockets' plus-15 advantage on the boards against WMU was one shy of its largest cushion this season. UT held a plus-16 edge on Buffalo in its MAC opener.
•  Toledo has a plus-27 rebounding advantage in its last two games.
•  UT's 18 first-half points were its lowest in a half since tallying just 15 in a 59-54 victory at Cleveland State on Dec. 3, 2014.
•  Toledo's 56 points were a season low and marked the first time it was held below 60 points in Savage Arena since a 71-56 setback to Akron on Jan. 23, 2013.
•  Senior forward Steve Taylor Jr.'s 336 rebounds rank fourth in school history. The school record is 371 by Doug Hess, who averaged 15.5 rpg in the 1969-70 campaign.
•  Sophomore forward Nate Navigato saw his streak of hitting two or more treys end at 10 games with a 1-of-3 performance behind the three-point arc.
•  Senior guard Jordan Lauf grabbed nine rebounds for a second-straight game and is averaging 8.2 rpg in his last six contests.
•  Sophomore guard Jaelan Sanford is shooting 58.2 percent from the field (32-of-55) and 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from three-point range in his last six games.

FOUR ROCKETS RANKED AMONG TOP 30 IN MAC LEAGUE SCORING
Toledo and Buffalo are the only schools to have four players appear in the Mid-American Conference's Top 30 scorers in league play. Senior Jonathan Williams ranks fourth with 19.6 ppg and is followed by senior Steve Taylor, Jr. (10th/15.6 ppg), sophomore Jaelan Sanford (13th/14.6 ppg) and sophomore Nate Navigato (26th/12.1 ppg).

HOME SWEET HOME
Toledo is 10-3 in Savage Arena this season, marking its best home record since posting a 15-0 ledger in 2013-14. Since the start of the 2013-14 campaign, UT holds a 44-14 (.759) home mark.

IF THE SEASON ENDED TODAY...
Toledo is currently tied for third place with Northern Illinois in the MAC's West Division and is two games behind Ball State. The Rockets are just two games behind the Cardinals and Buffalo for the third-best record in the conference. If the season ended today, UT would be the No. 7 seed and host No. 10 Bowling Green in the first round of the MAC Tournament.
