QUICK HITTERS
• Toledo (13-12, 6-6 MAC) travels to Akron, OH on Tuesday, Feb. 14 to battle MAC East Division leader Akron (21-4, 11-1 MAC) in the first of two road contests this week. Tip-off time in Rhodes Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. with the game being televised on Spectrum Sports and BCSN and streamed on ESPN3.
• The Rockets, who are tied for first place in the MAC's West Division, improved to 10-2 on their home floor this season after posting a pair of convincing victories last week over Eastern Michigan (73-57) and Kent State (78-58). Those two wins snapped a three-game skid during which UT lost a trio of contests by a total of seven points.
•  Toledo shot a season-high 65.2 percent against the Golden Flashes for its highest shooting mark in nearly 15 years. The senior tandem of Jonathan Williams and Steve Taylor, Jr. topped the Rocket attack with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
• Williams ranks third in the MAC with a team-high 20.3 ppg and is also third in league play with a 20.9 scoring mark.
• Taylor, who is the only player in the MAC to rank in the league's Top 10 in points, rebounds and assists per game, ranks second in team scoring with 15.9 ppg to go along with a MAC-best 12.1 rpg and a team-high 3.8 apg. He sits third nationally in rebounding (through Feb. 11) and second with 9.7 defensive rpg (just behind Purdue's Caleb Swanigan's total of 10.0). In addition, Taylor's 17 double-doubles are tied for fourth in the nation.
• Sophomore guard Jaelan Sanford is also a double-digit scorer for the Rockets with 14.2 ppg and is playing a team-high 35.6 mpg. In league play, he is averaging 15.6 ppg and 3.8 apg with a 53.3 FG%, 51.0 3PTFG% and 2.1 assist/turnover ratio.
• As a team, Toledo ranks second in the MAC with 81.3 ppg and is first with a 49.0 FG% (T-14th nationally) and 16.4 apg. UT leads the MAC in league play with a 50.5 FG% and 18.0 apg.
• The Rockets have set a school record (breaking the previous mark of five in the 1971-72 campaign) with a nation-high six overtime games (2-4 record) this season.
• Toledo's six OT games are tied for first nationally with Indiana State and Eastern Washington.
• Akron leads the MAC with a plus-8.2 scoring margin and 1.3 A/TO ratio and is second with a 47.9 FG%, 38.5 3PTFG% and 10.7 three-point field goals per game.
• The Zips have won 21 or more games each of the last 12 seasons and their 29-game home winning streak is the second-longest active stretch in the nation behind Oregon (40). Toledo has won each of its last two games in Rhodes Arena.
• Akron senior center Isaiah Johnson leads the MAC with a 63.0 FG% and ranks seventh with 16.6 ppg and eighth with 7.3 rpg.
POST-GAME NOTES FROM UT'S 78-58 VICTORY OVER KENT STATE
• Toledo is 10-2 in Savage Arena, marking its best home record since posting a 15-0 ledger in 2013-14. Since the start of the 2013-14 campaign, UT holds a 44-13 (.772) home mark.
• The Rockets' 65.2 field-goal percentage marked the first time UT shot 65 percent or better since posting a 66.7 mark vs. Arkansas State on Dec. 21, 2002.
• Toledo's 78.9 FG% in first half was a season high. UT's season low for a half came with its 29.2 FG% at Kent State on Jan. 21. The Golden Flashes' 24 second-half points were also a season low for a Rocket opponent, five points under than the previous low.
• Toledo's 90.9 FT% topped its previous best of 87.0 percent against Miami (Jan. 7).
• UT is now 9-5 when leading at halftime and 11-3 when leading with five minutes remaining.
• The Rockets are 5-5 against Kent State during Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk's tenure.
• UT is 8-2 when holding its opponent under a 45.0 field-goal percentage and 11-2 when it registers a higher shooting percentage than its opponent.
• UT is 5-0 this season when allowing opponents under 60 points.
• Toledo possesses a 5-2 record vs. MAC East squads this year and is 24-7 vs. the East Division since the start of the 2013-14 season.
• Toledo has a 48.3 three-point FG% (43-of-89) in its last four outings.
• Senior guard Jonathan Williams and senior forward Steve Taylor Jr. both registered season-high field goal percentages with 70.0 (7-of-10) and 69.2 (9-of-13) marks, respectively
• Sophomore Nate Navigato hit two or more treys in each of his last eight games and has a 52.2 three-point FG% (24-of-46) during this stretch.
• Senior guard Jordan Lauf grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and is averaging 7.7 rpg in his last three contests. He also tied his career high with five assists.
• Sophomore guard Jaelan Sanford hit 6-of-9 field goals vs. KSU and is shooting 66.7 percent from the field (20-of-30) and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from three-point range in his last three games.
FOUR ROCKETS RANKED AMONG TOP 30 IN MAC LEAGUE SCORING
       Toledo and Buffalo are the only schools to have four players appear in the Mid-American Conference's Top 30 scorers in league play. Senior Jonathan Williams ranks third with 20.9 ppg and is followed by senior Steve Taylor, Jr. (10th/15.8 ppg), sophomore Jaelan Sanford (11th/15.6 ppg) and sophomore Nate Navigato (27th/11.8 ppg).
ON THE HORIZON
       Following Tuesday's contest, the Rockets will remain on the road with a trip to DeKalb, IL to battle Northern Illinois (14-11, 6-6 MAC) on Saturday, Feb. 18. Toledo will then close out its regular season with a three-game homestand vs. Western Michigan (9-15, 5-7 MAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 21, Central Michigan (16-9, 6-6 MAC) on Friday, Feb. 24 and Ball State (15-10, 6-6 MAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 28 before visiting Eastern Michigan (13-12, 5-7 MAC) on Friday, March 3.
