TOLEDO, OH – Toledo closed out its weekend undefeated thanks to a 5-2 victory over Wayne State on Saturday afternoon. The Rockets improve to 5-5 on the season.

"We had a nice pep in our step starting with our doubles competition," said head coach
Al Wermer. "Our singles effort was good but we had some spotty results. We had a good win but there is still room to improve."

Toledo continued its dominance in the doubles competition. Juniors
Omar Espinosa and
Stephen Miller recorded their fifth-straight victory at No. 2 doubles, while the sophomore duo of
Juan Carranza and
Reid Teatsorth saw their third win of the weekend at No. 3.

Stjepan Sisko extended his winning streak to eight matches with a three-set triumph (6-3, 2-6, 6-4) at the No. 1 spot.

Reid Teatsorth each won their second-consecutive match of the weekend. Espinosa and Olmedo claimed straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Teatsorth battled through three (6-4, 4-6, 6-0) to down his opponent at fourth singles.

Toledo will travel to Youngstown State next Friday, Feb. 17 for a 12:30 p.m. match against the Penguins before returning home to host Illinois State on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
