Toledo to Put Unbeaten Mark on Line at Syracuse on Wednesday

QUICK HITTERS
•  Toledo looks to extend its season-opening win streak to four games when it visits Atlantic Coast Conference foe Syracuse (4-0) on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. The contest will be televised by ACC Network Extra and can be seen on the WatchESPN app. The Rockets' matchup vs. the Orange is the second of four games as part of the Miami HoopHall Invitational. UT will also travel to No. 3 Kansas (Nov. 28) and host Texas Southern (Dec. 2) as part of the event.
•   Toledo has opened its season with home victories over Saint Joseph's (98-87), Ohio Northern (72-62) and Oakland (87-74). That start has moved the Rockets into the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll with a No. 24 ranking. Junior guard Jaelan Sanford and senior guard Tre'Shaun Fletcher each topped the 20-point mark for the Rockets with 26 and 20 points, respectively, in the victory over the Golden Grizzlies.
•   Sanford ranks second in the Mid-American Conference with a team-high 23.3 ppg, while Fletcher is fifth with 20.0 ppg. Junior forward Nate Navigato and sophomore center Luke Knapke are also scoring in double digits for UT with 16.0 and 12.0 ppg, respectively.
•   Sanford and Fletcher have each earned MAC West Division Player of the Week honors each of the last two weeks for the Rockets.
•   Knapke leads Toledo with 9.3 rpg and is tied for second in the MAC along with junior forward Taylor Adway with 2.0 bpg. Knapke's work on the boards has helped UT out-rebound its opposition by a +4.7 margin.
•   Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is entering his eighth season at UT and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He has guided the Midnight Blue and Gold to a 118-82 (.590 win-loss mark over the last six-plus years, including back-to-back 20-win campaigns in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Toledo also has registered 84 victories over the last four-plus seasons, a total that ranks second among MAC members.
•   Syracuse improved to 4-0 on its season-opening six-game homestand with a 74-50 victory over Oakland. Following Wednesday's game, the Orange will host Maryland on Monday, Nov. 27 before facing No. 3 Kansas on Saturday, Dec. 2 in Miami.
•   Sophomore guard Tyus Battle leads Syracuse in scoring average (23.0) and has topped the Orange in all four contests.
•   Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim is in his 42nd season as head coach at his alma mater, ranking him first on the list of NCAA Division I coaches at their current schools.
•   Syracuse leads the all-time series against Toledo, 2-0, with the only two meetings coming in 1951 and 1990.

ROCKETS VS. ACC
Toledo possesses a 2-3 all-time win-loss record vs. Atlantic Coast Conference members. The Rockets' victories came vs. Wake Forest (1960) and Boston College (2013) with their defeats coming to Duke (2004, 2014) and Florida State (2007).

ON THE HORIZON
Toledo will continue its three-game road swing at Cornell (Nov. 24) and Kansas (Nov. 28) before returning home to host Texas Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 2.
