QUICK HITTERS
•  Toledo looks to build on an exciting 98-87 victory over Saint Joseph's in Saturday's home opener when it hosts NCAA Division III foe Ohio Northern on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7:00 p.m. The contest will be televised on ESPN3. The Rockets' matchup vs. the Polar Bears is the second in UT's season-opening three-game homestand with Horizon League favorite Oakland following ONU into Savage Arena on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
•   Junior guard Jaelan Sanford keyed the Rockets' victory over the Hawks by setting career highs with 31 points and eight assists. Sanford was extremely efficient, hitting 11-of-16 shots (4-of-6 from three-point range), 5-of-6 free throws and playing turnover-free in 39 minutes.
•   Joining Sanford in double figures was junior forward Nate Navigato, who tied his career high with 22 points, as well as senior guard Tre'Shaun Fletcher (13 pts.) and sophomore center Luke Knapke (10 pts.).
•   Fletcher and Knapke also shared the team lead on the boards with seven rebounds apiece. The duo's work on the glass led to a convincing 43-31 edge in the rebounding department as seven different Rockets grabbed four or more caroms.
•   Toledo's offense clicked in its opener, collecting 21 assists on its 30 field goals and shooting 53.6 percent from the field. The Rockets shot even better from behind the three-point arc, knocking down 56.0 percent (14 of 25) of their long-distance shots. UT also enjoyed a marked advantage at the charity stripe, draining 24-of-29 free throws compared to SJU's 11-of-20 totals.
•   Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is entering his eighth season at UT and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He has guided the Midnight Blue and Gold to a 116-82 (.586) win-loss mark over the last six years, including back-to-back 20-win campaigns in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Toledo also has registered 82 victories over the last four seasons, a total that ranks second among MAC members.
•   The Polar Bears open their season on Monday, Nov. 20 at Defiance and are seeking their third consecutive upper-division finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference under second-year head coach Rich Bensman.
•   ONU returns two starters and 14 lettermen from last year's squad that finished 16-10 overall and was second in the OAC with a 14-4 league mark.
•   The Rockets have split eight previous meetings against the Polar Bears with the first seven matchups coming before 1936. UT posted a 56-55 win over Ohio Northern the last time the two programs met on the hardwood in 1985.
