Rockets to Travel to Muncie to Battle Ball State on Tuesday Evening

 QUICK HITTERS
• Toledo (11-10, 4-4 MAC) looks to rebound from Saturday's 74-72 home setback to Northern Illinois when it travels to Muncie, IN to battle MAC West Division co-leader Ball State (14-7, 5-3 MAC) . Tip-off time in Worthen Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. with the game being streamed on ESPN3.
• The Rockets enter Tuesday's game tied for fourth place in the MAC's West Division with Central Michigan (14-7, 4-4 MAC). UT and CMU are one game behind the Cardinals, NIU (13-8, 5-3 MAC) and Eastern Michigan (13-8, 5-3 MAC) in the West standings.
• Sophomore guard
Jaelan Sanford poured in a career-high 29 points against North­ern Illinois and nearly helped UT rally from a nine-point deficit with three minutes remaining. Sanford registered a three-point play and hit a three-pointer during UT's comeback bid but missed two free throws to tie the game with 5.5 seconds left.
• Senior guard
Jonathan Williams ranks second in the MAC with a team-high 20.4 ppg and is third in league play with a 21.4 scoring mark.
• Senior forward
Steve Taylor, Jr. ranks second on the team in scoring with 15.2 ppg to go along with a MAC-best 12.2 rpg and a team-high 4.0 apg. He ranks third nationally in rebounding (through Jan. 29) and is second in the country with 9.8 defensive rpg (behind Purdue's Caleb Swanigan's total of 9.9). In addition, Taylor's 15 double-doubles are tied for third in the nation.
• Sanford is also a double-digit scorer for the Rockets with 14.0 ppg and is playing a team-high 35.0 mpg. He ranks second on the team in league scoring with 15.5 ppg.
•
As a team, Toledo ranks second in the MAC with 81.0 ppg and a 48.1 FG%. UT leads the MAC in league play with 17.0 apg and a 1.43 A/TO ratio.
• The Rockets have tied a school record
(set in the 1971-72 campaign) with a nation-high five overtime games this season. UT has a 2-3 win-loss mark in its OT contests with wins over Youngstown State (Nov. 15) and Evansville (Nov. 25) and losses against Middle Tennessee (Nov. 26), Green Bay (Dec. 3) and Marshall (Dec. 10).
• Toledo's five OT games are tied for first in the nation with Eastern Washington, Indiana State and Youngstown State.
• UT and BSU split their season series last year with each posting home wins.

• Ball State leads the MAC with 16.4 apg but is also first with 15.3 turnovers per game. The Cardinals also rank third in FG% (47.2), FG% defense (41.0) and 3PTFG% (37.7).

POST-GAME NOTES FROM UT'S 74-72 LOSS TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS
• Toledo lost for just the second time in 10 home games this season.
• UT has dropped five of its last six decisions vs. Northern Illinois including three straight defeats in Savage Arena.
• The Rockets lost for just the fourth time in 13 contests when shooting 45 percent or higher from the field.
• Toledo lost for just the second time in 11 contests when having a better shooting mark than its opponent.
• UT posted a 53.1 FG%, marking the third time in last four contests it has topped the 50-percent mark.
• The Rockets were outrebounded by their opposition for the fifth time in six games and are 2-5 when losing the battle of the boards.
• Toledo was limited to a season-low two offensive rebounds.
• UT had less than three players score in double figures for just the second time this season.
• Sophomore Jaelan Sanford's 29 points were one point shy of the most by a Rocket this season.
• Sanford also tied career highs for field goals (9), FG attempts (14) and registered a season-high four treys.
• Senior Steve Taylor Jr. dished out a career-high nine assists and his 17-rebound total matched his second-best rebound total this season.
• Senior Jonathan Williams has scored in double digits on a team-high 20 occasions and has a team-best 13 20-point outings. Williams hasn't led UT in scoring in four straight games after having led the Rockets in points in the nine previous contests.
• Williams is five points away from moving into eighth place on Toledo's all-time scoring list. Casey Shaw (1994-98) ranks eighth with 1,562 points and Tom Kozelko (1970-73) is ninth with 1,561 points.
