TOLEDO, OH – Toledo (2-1) will be traveling to Houston, TX this Labor Day weekend to participate in the Barcelona Labor Day Classic hosted by Houston Baptist. Toledo is set to start the weekend against Penn (0-0) on Friday, Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m. CT. The following day Toledo will see North Florida (3-1) at 2:00 p.m. CT followed by host Houston Baptist (1-3) at 7:00 p.m. CT.

UT is returning to the court after a winning campaign in the Holiday Inn Invitational. Junior MH
Rachel Vidourek was named to the all-tournament team after posting a team-high a .383 attack percentage and ranking second with 2.58 kps and 0.92 bps. Junior OH
Saige Thomas led the team with 2.92 kps after a career-high 19-kill performance vs. SIUE. Freshman MH
Zoe Birnbrich paced the Rockets with 1.09 bps and notched a .382 hitting mark. Sophomore S
Carly Townsend tallied a career-high 61 assists vs. the Cougars and averaged 10.58 aps during the weekend.

North Florida Ospreys
North Florida (3-1) is coming off a successful weekend at the FAU Tournament. The Ospreys defeated both Drake and FAU, 3-2, and downed Bethune-Cookman in a 3-1 battle. UNF's only loss (3-1) of the weekend came from Northeastern. Senior RS/MB Carina Hoff leads the Ospreys' offense, registering 2.89 kps, with junior OH/RS Katarina Raicevic trailing closely with 2.39 kps. Defensively, senior MB Morgan Van Alstine leads the efforts at the net and has averaged 1.28 bps. Sophomore libero Ashley LaBorde paces North Florida with 4.17 dps. UT and North Florida have not met previously.

Penn Quakers
Penn will open its season against Toledo this weekend. Last year, the team's overall record was 13-13. The Quakers lost a strong senior class from last season, however, junior MB Kendall Covington is expecting to lead the team in offense as team co-captain. Last season, Covington had 141 kills and averaged 1.53 kps. Penn and Toledo have met once before in 2011 which resulted in the Rockets coming away with a 3-2 win.

Houston Baptist Huskies
Houston Baptist (1-3) is hosting its second straight tournament after dropping a 3-0 decision at Rice on Tuesday. Senior RS Ashlee Vann led the Huskies against the Owls with seven kills, while junior libero Hailey Erickson topped HBU with 15 digs. Junior middle blocker Blair Gillard tallied five blocks. Toledo and Houston Baptist have also never met in competition.

Looking Ahead
UT will host the Toledo/ASICS Invitational in its home opener next weekend. The Rockets will open play on Friday, Sept. 9 vs. Saint Francis at 10:00 a.m. followed by Fort Wayne at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 10, the Rockets will wrap up the tournament against Marshall at 2:30 p.m.
