Olivia Chinn will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on Saturday, June 25
th at 8:45 p.m. PST.

Athletes ranging from ages 14-19 are eligible to compete in the junior outdoor championships, and may not turn 20 in the calendar year. Any American female with a 3,000m steeplechase time under 11:10.14 is eligible to compete. Chinn qualified with a time of 11:00.85 at the 50
th Annual Hillsdale College "GINA" Relays.

"This is the best 19-and-under group of athletes in the United States," head coach
Linh Nguyen said. "Only the top in the country can get to this event, so this is pretty good for her as a student-athlete."

The top-two from the event will be placed on the junior USA team and will compete at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Chinn is able to run the event while representing the University of Toledo.

"It's good to have national exposure for the program and be seen on a national stage," Nguyen said. "On a personal level, she will gain valuable championship and big meet experience."
