Rockets to Host Miami on Saturday Evening in Savage Arena

QUICK HITTERS
•   Toledo (15-9, 6-5 MAC) looks to extend its winning streak to a season-high four straight games when it hosts Miami (9-15, 3-8 MAC) on Saturday, Feb. 13. Tip-off time is set for 7:00 p.m. and  can be seen on BCSN locally as well as on the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel in Ohio.
•   The Rockets have posted victories over Western Michigan (89-62) as well as road triumphs over Kent State (82-67) and Buffalo (71-69) since dropping three straight decisions to end the month of January. The RedHawks carry momentum into Saturday's contest as well with three wins in their last four games, including a 45-44 road victory on Tuesday at Western Michigan.
•   UT is tied for first place in the MAC's West Division with Ball State and Central Michigan, while Miami is in last place in the MAC's East Division.
•   Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is in his sixth season at UT's helm and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He possesses a 100-87 (.535) record on the Rocket bench, including a 96-59 (.619) win-loss ledger over the last five years.
•   Kowalczyk has guided Toledo to a share of the 2013-14 Mid-American Conference regular season title in addition to a piece of the 2012-13 MAC West Division title.
•   Junior Jonathan Williams led five players in double figures with 15 points against Buffalo, including a game-winning basket with 1.4 seconds remaining.
•   Senior Nathan Boothe notched his 12th double-double of the season and sixth in a row with 11 points and 11 rebounds against Buffalo. He also recorded a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards in UT's 84-76 victory at Miami on Jan. 9.
•   In UT's earlier win over the RedHawks, the Rockets led by as many as 28 points en route to their sixth straight victory in the series. UT shot 53.7 percent from the field and a sizzling 50.0 percent (13-off-26) from three-point range.
•   Boothe and Williams rank among the MAC's top scorers with Boothe setting the pace at 19.2 ppg and Williams in third place at 18.0 ppg. Boothe also is first in the MAC with 7.4 defensive rpg, second with a team-high 9.4 rpg, eight with a 50.6 FG% and ninth with 3.5 apg.
•   Boothe, who ranks second in league play in scoring (20.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.0 rpg), was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week for the sixth time on Monday. He averaged 21.0 ppg, 11.0 ppg and 4.0 apg with a 52.0 FG%, 57.1 3PTFG% and 92.3 FT% vs. WMU and KSU.
•   UT tops the MAC with 16.8 apg and a 1.47 assist/turnover ratio and is tied for first with 78.5 ppg. The Rockets also rank second with a 46.1 FG% behind Ohio's 46.9 mark.
•   Miami ranks last in the MAC at 62.8 ppg as well as 3PTFG% (30.4) and FG% (40.2). The RedHawks rank third in scoring defense (67.1 ppg),
•   Senior guard Eric Washington tops Miami with 14.5 ppg with senior guard Geovonie McKnight also in double digits at 12.7 ppg.

ROCKET ROUNDUP FROM UT'S 71-69 VICTORY AT BUFFALO
• The Rockets increased their lead in their all-time series vs. Buffalo to 14-9.
• Toledo's victory at Buffalo was its second in a row in Alumni Arena.
• Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk notched his 100th victory as the Rockets' head coach.
• UT is 13-2 when outrebounding its opponent.
• The Rockets won for the first time in seven games this season when trailing at halftime.
• Toledo won for the first time in nine contests this season when shooting under 45 percent.
• Toledo has posted its three best free-throw percentages of the MAC season in its last three games. UT has shot 82.6 percent (19-of-23) vs. WMU, 88.9 percent (16-of-18) at Kent State and 82.6 percent (19-of-23) at Buffalo.
• The Rockets are shooting 84.4 percent (54-of-64) from the charity stripe in their last four contests.
• Five Rockets scored in double figures for the fourth time this season and Toledo is 11-1 when four or more players have scored in double digits.
• Senior center Nathan Boothe registered his 12th double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. He has led or shared the team lead in rebounding on a team-best 18 occasions.
• Boothe moved into 15th place on UT's all-time scoring list with 1,336 points and needs 17 points to tie Larry Cole (1973-76) for 14th place and 20 to tie Ted Williams (1974-78) for 13th place.
• Junior guard Jonathan Williams tallied 15 points to give him 14 or more points in 23 of 24 contests. He needs just four points to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his collegiate career.
• Freshman forward Nate Navigato has scored in double digits in a season-high three straight games and 10 times this season. He is averaging 10.0 ppg with 41.4 3PTFG% (12-of-29) in his last five contests.
• Junior forward Zach Garber notched a career-high seven free throws en route to a 13-point, seven-rebound performance.
 
A LOOK AHEAD
        The Rockets venture back out on the road for road tilts at Central Michigan (13-11, 6-5 MAC) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Eastern Michigan (12-12, 4-7 MAC) at Noon on Saturday, Feb. 20. Toledo will play three of its final four games to end the season in Savage Arena beginning with a matchup vs. Ball State (15-9, 6-5 MAC) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
