QUICK HITTERS
• Toledo looks to bounce back from a one-point setback in its season opener when it hosts Horizon League foe Youngstown State (1-0) in its first home game of the 2016-17 campaign on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Tip-off time is set for 8:00 p.m. in Savage Arena (7,014) and can be seen live on ESPN3. The UT-YSU contest will follow the UT women's squad's matchup vs. Rhode Island that is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
• The Rockets fell by a 77-76 margin at Saint Joseph's on Saturday. In a second half that featured 25 lead changes, UT took its last lead at 71-70 on senior forward Steve Taylor, Jr.'s layup with just over two minutes remaining. The Hawks then strung together six straight points to take a lead Toledo couldn't overcome.
• Senior guard
Jonathan Williams paced Toledo with 18 points with Taylor (14 points) and junior guard
Daniel Dzierzawski (13 points) also scoring in double digits.
• Sophomore forward
Nate Navigato grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and Taylor hauled down seven boards to help UT hold a 38-32 advantage on the glass against the Hawks.
• The Penguins posted a 90-82 come-from-behind victory over Akron in their home opener on Saturday. Junior Cameron Morse scored a game-high 27 points and senior Matt Donlan added 20 points to lead YSU's attack.
• Morse connected on 10-of-17 shots from the field with three 3-pointers, while Donlan tied a career high with six treys to lead the Penguins to their first win over Akron since 1994.
• Toledo leads the all-time series vs. YSU by a 10-2 margin, including a 100-68 road win last year. Former Rocket
Nathan Boothe and Williams led the way offensively with 26 and 20 points, respectively, as UT shot 56.3 percent from the field.

Tod Kowalczyk is in his seventh season at UT and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He has guided the Midnight Blue and Gold to a 98-66 (.598) win-loss mark over the last six years, including back-to-back 20-win campaigns in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Entering this year, Toledo had registered 64 victories over the last three seasons, a total that ranked second among MAC members.
• Tuesday's contest vs. YSU is Toledo's lone home game in the month of November. The Rockets will be on the road for six of seven games in the month before playing seven of its next eight contests in Savage Arena.
• Toledo has won its last five home openers with its last defeat coming in a 57-51 loss to UIC on Nov. 19, 2010.
POST-GAME NOTES FROM UT'S 77-76 LOSS AT SAINT JOSEPH'S
• UT saw its three-game winning streak in season openers come to an end, and the Rockets now have a 54-48 all-time record in season lidlifters.
• Toledo held a 38-32 advantage on the boards with 11 of its rebounds coming on the offensive glass. The Rockets averaged 9.6 offensive rebounds per game last year.
• The Rockets converted 12-of-16 free throws (75.0 percent) after posting a 74.7 FT% last year. UT has ranked first or second in the MAC in FT% in each of the last five seasons.
• Senior guard
Jonathan Williams scored in double digits for the 60th time as a Rocket with 18 points. He now is in 32nd place on UT's all-time scoring list with 1,147 points.

Zach Garber will play in his 100th game vs. Youngstown State on Tuesday.
• Senior forward
Steve Taylor Jr. tallied 14 points, seven rebounds and a team-high three assists in his first game as a Rocket. Taylor sat out the 2015-16 campaign after transferring from Marquette.
• Junior guard
Daniel Dzierzawski scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half and ranked third on the team with four rebounds in his first game at UT. Dzierzawski played for the last two years at Moberley Area (MO) Community College.

ROCKET OPPONENTS OPEN SEASON WITH NEAR PERFECTION
     Ten of the Rockets' 11 non-conference opponents have yet to lose a game and possess a combined 11-1 (.917) win-loss mark through Sunday, November 13. The only Toledo opponent to suffer a loss on college basketball's opening weekend was Evansville with Friday's 78-47 setback at No. 12 Louisville.
