TOLEDO, OH – Toledo's Senior Night was spoiled by a Western Michigan victory on Saturday evening in Savage Arena. The Broncos took the match, 3-1 (25-27 25-17, 25-20, 25-21), to close out the regular season with an 11-18 record overall (6-10 MAC). The Rockets finish with an overall record of 15-13 and a Mid-American Conference record of 8-8, which will be enough to send UT into post-season play next weekend in DeKalb, IL.

Toledo's defense was led by four Rockets who notched double-digit digs. Sophomore libero
Maurissa Leonard paced UT with 23 digs, junior DS
Lauren Bakaitis followed with 15 and senior DS
Maggie Johnston added 14. Sophomore S
Carly Townsend posted a double-double on the night with 14 digs to go along with 36 assists.

Gracey Tuifua recorded 11 kills.

Rachel Vidourek sealed in the victory for the Rockets with a pair of kills.

Set 2 remained a tight battle until the Broncos closed it out with a 9-2 spurt to even the score, 1-1.

Western Michigan never trailed in the final two sets and out hit the Rockets, .260-.143.

Despite the loss, Toledo will return to the MAC Tournament for the first time since its appearance in 2013. The tournament will be hosted by Northern Illinois in DeKalb, IL and the first round will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17.
