Toledo to Visit Arch-Rival Falcons in Stroh Center on Tuesday Evening

QUICK HITTERS
•  Toledo (11-6, 2-2 MAC) faces Bowling Green (12-5, 3-1 MAC) for the 167th time in the 'Battle of I-75' on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Tip-off time for the only meeting between the rivals in the 2015-16 campaign is set for 7:00 p.m. the Stroh Center. The contest will be televised by BCSN and streamed on ESPN3.
•  The Rockets registered a convincing 78-64 home win over Akron last Friday to even its MAC record at 2-2. The Falcons enter Tuesday's contest with a two-game win streak following wins at Ohio (91-75) and Eastern Michigan (84-79) last week.
•  Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is in his sixth season at UT's helm and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He possesses a 96-84 (.533) record on the Rocket bench, including a 92-56 (.622) win-loss ledger over the last five years.
•  Kowalczyk has guided Toledo to a share of the 2013-14 Mid-American Conference regular season title in addition to a piece of the 2012-13 MAC West Division title.
•  Senior Nathan Boothe tallied 25 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Stuckey Mosley tied his career high with 19 points in UT's win over the Zips. The Rockets put the game away with a 16-1 spurt after Akron had closed to within 54-48 with 10:42 to play.
•  Boothe and Williams are the MAC's top two leading scorers with 19.6 and 18.9 ppg, respectively. Boothe also is second in the MAC with a team-high 8.8 rpg and sixth with a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio and team-best 3.9 apg, eighth with a 53.8 FG%, 10th with a 77.6 FT% and 12th with a 41.9 3PTFG%.
•  Boothe also sets the pace in league scoring with 24.0 ppg and ranks third with 8.8 rpg.
•  Boothe was named the MAC's West Division Player of the Week on Monday for the fifth time this season and also earned a spot on CollegeInsiders.com mid-season Mid-Major All-America squad in early January.
•  Toledo is tied for ninth nationally with a 1.64 assist/turnover ratio and 18th with 17.6 apg.
•  UT tops the MAC with 80.4 ppg, 17.6 apg, 47.2 FG% and 1.64 assist/turnover ratio.
•  Bowling Green leads the MAC in three-point FG% in overall (39.2) and league play (44.6) but ranks second-to-last in three-point field-goal attempts (300 overall/65 conference).
•  Senior forward Spencer Parker and junior guard Zack Denny are the Falcons' top scorers and rebounders. Parker leads the way with 14.1 ppg to go along with 6.1 rpg, while Denny tops BGSU with 7.2 rpg in addition to his 13.6 ppg.
 
ROCKET ROUNDUP FROM UT'S 78-64 VICTORY OVER AKRON
• Toledo's lead in its all-time series vs. Akron was increased to 33-26 with its fourth-straight victory over the Zips. The Rockets had previously lost their seven previous meetings against Akron.
• Three of Toledo's last four victories over the Zips have come by 14 points or more.
• Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk improved his career coaching record to 5-3 vs. Akron.
• The Rockets committed just seven turnovers, just one shy of its season low vs. San Jose State.
• UT is 11-1 when it shoots 45 percent or higher and 10-0 when its registers a higher field-goal percentage than its opponent.
• The Rockets are 10-1 when outrebounding their opponent.
• Toledo improved its record following a defeat to 5-1 with its only back-to-back setbacks this season coming at Detroit (Dec. 9) and vs. Oakland (Dec. 12).
• UT won for just the third time in nine outings when having less than four players score in double digits.
• Toledo registered a season-best 59.1 FG% in the second half.
• Akron's 32.1 FG% in the first half was a season low by a Rocket opponent.
• Senior center Nathan Boothe topped the Rockets in points and rebounds for a team-best ninth and 13 times, respectively. He also took a career-high three-point field goal attempts.
• Sophomore guard Stuckey Mosley tied his career highs with 19 points and three steals and has topped the Rockets in thefts a team-best eight times.
• Junior guard Jonathan Williams took only one three-point shot vs. Akron, three fewer than he's taken in any game this season. Williams scored 15 points to give him 14 or more points in every game this year and is shooting 48.5 percent (16-of-33) from three-point range over his last six contests.
