Rockets Fall to Red-Hot Huskies, 3-0

DeKALB, IL – Toledo couldn't slow Mid-American Conference West Division-leading Northern Illinois down on Friday evening in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-18) setback to the Huskies (15-10, 11-2 MAC).

The Rockets were limited to a .079 attack percentage, while NIU notched an impressive .435 hitting mark. It was the second-straight match the Huskies registered a .400 ATK% or higher and the second time in the last three contests NIU limited its opponent to a hitting percentage under .100.

Freshman OH Gracey Tuifua topped the Rockets with nine kills and a .286 attack percentage, while sophomore MB Annie Beasley garnered a team-high three blocks.

Junior OH T'ara Austin led the Huskies with 15 kills, while junior MB Jenna Radtke registered 11 kills with a hitting percentage of .647.

The Huskies opened with a convincing first set victory thanks to closing the set on a 10-1 run. NIU hit .615 in the opening frame while Toledo had a clip of .000.

The Huskies hit .412 in the final frame, and the Rockets notched a .212 ATK% but ended up with a 25-18 defeat.
