Stjepan Sisko Falls in Second Round of ITA All-American

Tulsa, OK – Junior Stjepan Sisko competed at the Saint Francis Health System All-American Championships this week in Tulsa, OK. Approximately 150 of the best Division I men's tennis players in the nation competed in the tournament.

Sisko was accepted into the Qualifier Event based on ITA entry procedures. Sisko won his first-round match on Monday as he defeated Parker McGuiness (Utah) 6-3, 6-2.

In his second-round match, Sisko dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Ohio State's Hugo di Feo.

"The match didn't go as I was expecting," said Sisko. "I didn't play my best and I couldn't find my rhythm. But good thing is I always rebound from list better, stronger and faster."

"Di Feo is a solid player, he was top 20 in junior world rankings," said head coach Al Wermer. "We know Stjepan can definitely compete at this level. It seems like Stjepan couldn't find his rhythm early, so that can tend to make you play a little desperately."

Sisko and the rest of the Toledo men's tennis team will compete in the Rocket Invitational this weekend on Friday-Sunday, Oct. 9-11. at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts and the Shadow Valley Tennis Club.
