Carvajal won a pair of matches on top singles court
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior Hanamichi Carvajal was named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Carvajal picked up two wins on the No. 1 court last week. He posted a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over UIC's Artem Alekseychuk to help Toledo earn a 6-1 win, the Rockets' first of league play.
The Santiago, Chile native followed up with a three-set 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 victory over NIU's Nikola Puntaric. Carvajal now sits at 3-2 in MAC play at the top singles position.
UT returns to action against Ball State on Thursday, March 26 in Muncie, Ind. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
