9/28/2014 3:37:00 AM

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Toledo volleyball team suffered its second-consecutive Mid-American Conference setback, falling 3-0 (25-22. 25-19, 25-15) on Saturday to Western Michigan.

“Western Michigan did a nice job tonight and we struggled with consistency,” head coach Greg Smith said. “We are going to continue to work hard and try to get things turned around.”

The Rockets were limited to a .167 attack percentage, as sophomore OH Alyssa Ehrhardt once again led Toledo in kills with seven. It was the ninth time in the past 10 matches Ehrhardt posted a team-high in kills. She also had five digs in the contest.

Three Rockets had strong defensive games, tallying eight digs each. Junior S Alex Hines, sophomore DS Maggie Johnston and freshman libero Lauren Bakaitis tied for the team-high in digs, and Hines also led Toledo with 25 assists.

Senior MB Brooke Frazer added six kills on the offensive end, while the freshman duo of RSH Saige Thomas and RS/MB Rachel Vidourek each recorded five kills of their own.

Sophomore OH Mary O'Connor posted an impressive .750 attack percentage on her four attacks.

The Broncos were able to finish on .327 percent of their attacks, as Sydney LaMay (.733 ATK) and Ali Gossen (.571 ATK) had 12 and 10 kills, respectively.

Sierra Hubbard-Neil tallied a match-high 18 digs, and Lexie Pawlik recorded 40 assists.

The Rockets will welcome Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan to Savage Arena next weekend for two MAC contests. Friday's match against the Chippewas is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's matchup vs. the Eagles will begin at 5:00 p.m.
