Toledo Falls in Four Sets at Eastern Michigan, 3-1

YPSILANTI, MI – Toledo battled Eastern Michigan tough for four sets on Friday but came up on the short end of a 3-1 decision (22-25, 25-17, 20-25, 19-25) in the Convocation Center. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 1-25 overall, 0-13 in the Mid-American Conference.

Redshirt freshman RS Rachel Vidourek and senior MB Brooke Frazer powered the UT attack with a match-tying best 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Senior OH Natalia Parreira also contributed eight terminations in tonight's MAC West Division matchup.

Jill Briner and Devon Murray paced the victorious Eagles (16-11, 7-6 MAC) with a match-tying high 12 kills each followed by Megan Crawshaw and Stacey Perinar tallying 10 terminations apiece.

EMU connected for a .131 attack percentage for the match, while Toledo posted a .118 mark. Aiding Eastern Michigan's cause was six services aces and 15 blocks, in addition to 25 attacking errors by the Rockets. Katie Krasowski also paced the home team with six blocks, while Corynne Smith sparked the EMU defense with 26 digs.

UT played its best volleyball in the second set, scoring 10 of the final 12 points to claim the eight-point victory. Parreira sparked the strong effort with five kills, followed closely by Vidourek and Frazer with three terminations each.

Toledo will return to action tomorrow when it travels to Central Michigan for a 7:00 p.m. contest in McGuirk Arena.
