TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo volleyball team fell on Thursday in Savage Arena to Ball State, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15).
The Rockets were limited to a .046 hitting percentage compared to the Cardinals' .340 mark in the match.
Freshman MB/RS Rachel Vidourek led the way offensively for the Midnight Blue & Gold, recording eight kills with a .200 attack percentage. She also added two block assists on the defensive end.
The sophomore duo of OH Alyssa Ehrhardt and OH Mary O'Connor each tallied six blocks for the Rockets, while senior MB Brooke Frazer had four terminations in the contest.
On the defensive end, both Ehrhardt and sophomore DS Maggie Johnston totaled a team-high 12 digs. Freshman DS/S Brianna Foster added five digs.
Frazer led the way with three total blocks, including two solo blocks in the match.
Freshman OH Sabrina Mangapora and junior MB/OPP Kelly Hopkins tied for a match-high nine kills for Ball State, while Hopkins led the way with a .438 hitting percentage.
The Cardinals tallied six total team blocks and junior DS Kati Vasalakis recorded a match-high 17 digs.
Toledo scored the first point of the match on a kill by O'Connor and kept the first set close, tying the game at seven on a kill by Ehrhardt. Ball State went on a four-point streak, opening up the set and never looking back. A kill by Hopkins closed out the Rockets in the first game.
The Cardinals put away the Rockets in much of the same fashion, opening up leads that the Midnight Blue & Gold could not overcome.
The Rockets conclude their regular season on Saturday with a home match at Savage Arena against MAC East Division foe Buffalo. The contest is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. The match will also be senior day for Frazer and OH Natalia Parreira.
