TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo volleyball team won the first set in Friday's home match against Mid-American Conference West Division foe Western Michigan, but lost the next three en route to a 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-21) loss.
The Rockets accumulated a .229 attack percentage in comparison to the Broncos' .315 mark.
Sophomore OH Alyssa Ehrhardt led the way offensively with 16 kills (.156 ATK), while senior MB Brooke Frazer paced the Rockets with a .583 hitting percentage and 15 kills.
Freshman RS/MB Rachel Vidourek added 11 kills with a .450 attack percentage in the match.
Junior S Alex Hines recorded 50 helpers in the match, assisting on all but six of Toledo's terminations, and adding two kills and two digs as well.
On the defensive side, Ehrhardt also led the Midnight Blue and Gold in digs with 13, followed by freshman libero Lauren Bakaitis with 12 digs of her own.
Sophomore DS Maddie Strall recorded eight digs, while senior OH Natalia Parreira and sophomore DS Maggie Johnston each tallied six digs.
The Rockets took a quick 4-1 lead in the first set, and extended the lead to 9-5, but the Broncos fought back to tie the set at 13. Toledo scored seven of the next nine points to extend its lead to 20-15 and never looked back, winning the frame 25-22.
For the Broncos, freshman MB Sydney LeMay posted a .469 attack percentage with a match-high 18 kills, while redshirt sophomore MB Ave Stout added 12 kills with a .688 hitting percentage.
The Rockets are back in action Saturday when they welcome Northern Illinois to Savage Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
