DEXTER, MI - The Toledo women's cross country team ran the final race of their regular season at the EMU Fall Classic. The Rockets had two runners place in the top 20 of the 115 runners competing.
Junior Sharon Morgan and senior Julia Pusateri finished back-to-back in 19th and 20th place, respectively. Junior Maja Parcaric finished in 31st place while freshman Stephanie Barlow, junior Thersea Warsecke and sophomore Natalie Camardo all placed in the top 40 in 34th, 37th, and 38th places, respectively.
"Today was a better result than last weekend," UT head coach Linh Nguyen said. "I was happy to see the women get out more aggressively and put themselves in a position to succeed. We still need to work on the last third of the race but it was a step in the right direction. I thought Sharon ran a solid race and we saw positives from Natalie, and Stephanie."
Becca Addison ran unattached in the race and placed first with a time of 17:29.8. Michigan's Jamie Phelan finished in second while Emily Short of Saginaw Valley rounded out the top three.
UT received 53 points in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll, which placed them 27th in the country.
Toledo is currently ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region behind No.1 Michigan State, No. 4 Michigan and No. 19 Ohio State.
The Rockets ran without their top seven runners in Dexter as they rested up for next weekend's Mid-American Conference Championships in Mount Pleasant, MI on Nov. 1.
