Welcome to the Glass Bowl & Glass Bowl Diagram
The Glass Bowl, today one of the premier college football
facilities in the country, had a humble beginning. The Glass Bowl was built by
the Works Progress Administration in 1936, only seating 8,000 fans and cost
$313,558 to build. Later it went through
a $18.5 million renovation in 1990. Over the years the most appealing aspect of
the Glass Bowl renovation was the way in which the architects introduced a
modern look while keeping the flavor and atmosphere of the old stadium intact.
The two towers and the stone outer wall remain, giving the Glass Bowl a look
and feel unlike any other football stadium in America. Today the Glass Bowl
seating capacity is 26,248. With all the
updated renovations we are very proud of our beautiful and
historic stadium, and we hope you enjoy the excitement and pageantry of Rocket
football. Our goal is to make your experience in the Glass Bowl as safe and as
enjoyable as possible. Thank you for your support!
