TOLEDO, OH - Hannah Rockhold pitched her sixth complete game this season and gave up two runs on seven hits but the sophomore's efforts in the circle were not enough to get the Rockets the win over the Ball State Cardinals. BSU won Saturday's game by a score of 2-0.
The Cardinals held a .261 batting average entering Saturday's game and Rockhold held the Blue and White to under their average as BSU accumulated just seven hits in 27 at bats. The junior from Lima, OH amassed six strikeouts in the game, which ties a season best among Rockets. Rockhold's two allowed runs also ties for her season low in complete games thrown by the right-handed hurler.
On the offensive side, six Rockets posted hits for the Midnight Blue and Gold including a double by freshman Brooke Gates in the fourth inning.
UT (5-26, 3-6 MAC) and BSU (19-16, 9-1 MAC) will face off again on Sunday at Scott Park beginning at 1:00 p.m.
