TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Florentino Valencia came off the bench to lead Toledo with 18 points as the Rockets defeated Western Michigan 81-58 Wednesday night.
Sammy Villegas scored 16, including four 3-pointers, for Toledo (16-10, 9-8 Mid-American Conference) and Justin Ingram added 14 points and five rebounds. Valencia also pulled down five rebounds.
Derek Fracalossi came off the bench to led the Broncos (13-15, 10-7) with 11 points. Joe Reitz and Andrew Hershberger added eight points and six rebounds apiece.
Western kept pace with Toledo in the second half, with each team scoring 34, but it wasn't enough for the Broncos to overcome a 47-24 halftime deficit.
Toledo started on an 11-0 run and never trailed. The Rockets' 26-point lead 15 seconds into the second half was their highest of the game.
Toledo shot 34-of-63 from the floor to the Broncos' 20-of-38. The Rockets scored 27 points off turnovers, while Western scored only 1.
