Toledo (5-10 MAC, 8-20 overall) defeated Central Michigan (7-8 MAC, 17-11 overall) in four games this evening (26-30, 30-22, 30-19, 30-22). The Rockets came back to win three straight after being down at the end of the first game.
Leading the Rockets in kills was junior Sarah Kreher who had 20 kills and a .471 attack percentage. Freshman Ashley Rucki and senior Lora Sarich led the team in total defense with 13 digs each.
Sarich, who stepped out of her normal defensive libero position, showed that she could be an impact on offense as well. She had 12 kills and a block for the Rockets against the Chippewas, while junior Emi Holsclaw had 60 assists.
Offensively, Toledo dominated over CMU. The Rockets as a team had 71 kills and 10 blocks while the Chippewas had only 53 kills and 6 blocks.
Leading CMU's offense was senior Allison Baker who had 14 kills and one block. Following behind her with 13 kills and five blocks was sophomore Whitney Evers.
UT will play its final regular season match tomorrow against Eastern Michigan. The game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. Before the game, seniors Kate Bean and Lora Sarich will be recognized for their four years of dedication to the Rockets' volleyball team.
