MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Skip Mills scored 18 points and Maurice Acker 14 as Ball State (7-10, 3-6 MAC) registered a 69-56 victory over Toledo on Sunday. The setback was the Rockets' 12th loss in their last 13 contests at Worthen Arena and snapped UT's two-game winning streak.

Acker hit a 3-pointer with 12:05 left in the first period to give Ball State a 13-12 lead, and the Cardinals stayed ahead the rest of the way. The Rockets had jumped out to a 12-6 advantage in the first four minutes before BSU went on an 11-1 run.

Junior guard Keonta Howell shot 7-of-11 from the field - including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc - to lead the Rockets with 16. Junior guard Justin Ingram scored 10 points and was the only other player in double figures for Toledo (10-8, 3-7).

Both teams were nearly even from the field, but Ball State went 19-of-24 from the stripe compared with Toledo's 3-of-14. The Rockets (9-of-17) outshot the Cardinals (2-of-6) from 3-point range.

Ball State outrebounded the Rockets, 31-24, and outscored them inside, 36-16. The Cardinals also had more points off turnovers (24) than Toledo (13).

The Rockets return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 1 with a visit to Kalamazoo, MI to face Western Michigan (8-11, 5-4 MAC).
