OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Nathan Peavy scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 58-49 win over Toledo on Wednesday night.
Justin Ingram and Jerrah Young both had 10 points for Toledo (8-6, 1-5).
The score was tied at 25 at halftime. But Peavy pulled Miami (9-5, 6-0 Mid-American Conference) to a 36-27 lead, scoring six points during an 11-2 run in the first 5:02 of the second half.
Young then scored eight straight points to bring UT back to within a point, 40-39, with 7:41 remaining in the game.
That was as close as the Rockets could come though as Miami picked up key baskets down the stretch, including back-to-back treys by seniors William Hatcher and Josh Hausfeld with under three minutes to play to spark a 9-0 run.
Hatcher had 18 points for Miami, and Tim Pollitz added 11. Peavy recorded his sixth double-double.
Miami shot 46 percent in its 13th consecutive home win but held Toledo to 37 percent shooting.
Toledo returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 4:30 p.m. against Ohio in the first game of a doubleheader. The Rocket women will battle Western Michigan in the nightcap at 7:00 p.m.
