Ingram Leads Rockets Past Oakland, 64-61

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Junior Justin Ingram scored a game-high 18 points to lead Toledo to a 64-61 victory over Oakland on Wednesday night.

A dunk from freshman Jonathan Amos with an Ingram assist broke a 59-59 tie with 1:42 left in the game to put the Rockets (7-2) ahead for good.

Oakland (5-6) led for most of the first half and was ahead 29-25 at halftime. The Golden Grizzlies led by seven points when Toledo began a 12-4 run with 10:45 remaining.

The lead changed hands three times in the last six minutes of the game.

Toledo juniors Keonta Howell and Florentino Valencia each scored 11 points.

The Rockets improved to 51.6 percent (16-of-31) from the floor after shooting 31.3 percent (10-of-32) in the first half. Toledo missed all of its 22 three-point attempts.

Rick Billings led the Golden Grizzlies with 13 points and Calvin Wooten added 12. Derick Nelson had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Shawn Hopes had 10 rebounds and nine points.

The Golden Grizzlies shot 42.9 percent from the field.

Toledo returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 4 with a Mid-American Conference contest at Kent State. Tip-off time is set for 5:30 p.m.
