TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Junior center Allen Pinson scored a season-high 16 points in just 10 minutes of action and five Toledo players reached double figures in an 83-68 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday night.
Junior guard Keonta Howell and junior forward Florentino Valencia added 14 points apiece for Toledo (5-2). Sophomore guard Kashif Payne had 11 and junior guard Justin Ingram 10.
Michael Lee had 16 points for St. Bonaventure (5-3). Paul Williams had 13 and Ahmad Smith 10.
Pinson hit all seven of his shots, including a career-high two treys, while Payne registered his first career double-double thanks to a career-high 11 assists.
Toledo led the entire game, scoring quickly on a pair of baskets by Anton Currie, his only two shots in the game.
A jumper by Smith drew St. Bonaventure within one at 17-16, but a 7-0 run by Toledo in the last two minutes of the half gave the Rockets a 39-27 lead at halftime. Smith hit a jumper to cut the lead to six at the 15:09 mark, but that was as close as St. Bonaventure got in the second half.
Toledo returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 21 with a 6:00 p.m. matchup vs. East Carolina. The contest was originally scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff but was moved up due to the Rockets' appearance in the GMAC Bowl.
