TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Junior guard Justin Ingram led a balanced attack with 13 points to lead Toledo to a 64-53 win over Wright State on Wednesday.
The Rockets (1-1) held the Raiders to 35 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers. Wright State also went 16-for-27 from the free-throw line.
DaShaun Wood scored 13 points and Jordan Pleiman added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (0-2), who outrebounded the Rockets 44-33.
Ingram and sophomore guard Kashif Payne hit three-pointers in a key 11-0 run to help the Rockets take a 28-21 lead at halftime. Wright State shot 8-for-27 from the field in the first half.
Wood hit a jumper to cut the lead to 47-42 with six minutes remaining but the Raiders couldn't get any closer. Junior guard Keonta Howell scored four quick points and Payne made a layup to make it 53-42 with 4:16 left.
Howell finished with 10 points and six rebounds for the Rockets, who shot 37 percent from the field.
Drew Burleson and Everett Spencer scored 10 points apiece for Wright State.
The Rockets return to action with a trip to Dallas, TX to meet Southern Methodist on Sunday, Nov. 27. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. (CT).
