The Rockets hit .405 and never trailed in the first game and broke it open with a 6-0 run to take a 19-11 advantage. The Rockets led the entire way until Akron took its only lead of the match at 16-15. UT quickly regained its advantage at 17-16 and took control with a four-point run for a 27-20 lead. Sarich continued her strong defensive play in the game with eight digs.

The third game was more of the same as the Rockets shot out to a 13-6 advantage and their lead didn't fall under five points the rest of the way. UT hit .390 in the game and held the Zips to a .000 ATK%. Bean came up big for Toledo with nine kills and a .500 ATK% and shared the team dig lead with Kreher at six apiece.
