Indianapolis, IN - The University of Toledo men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Butler today. The Rockets fall to 3-5 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 4-4.
"Butler is a very talented team," Toledo Head Coach Al Wermer said. "We gave a good effort, but we're really decimated by injuries right now. This match should help us down the road when we play other strong opponents."
Freshman Travis Curran earned the lone UT point with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) victory over Mike Weaver in No. 5 singles.
Curran also teamed up with freshman Brian Rager to take the No. 3 doubles competition by an 8-2 score.
The Rockets will return home this weekend to host Wright State on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Laurel Hill Tennis Club. The following day, the Rockets will host Ferris State at 2:00 p.m. and Illinois-Chicago at 7:00 p.m.
