Head Coach Stan Joplin
(opening comments)
"We're definitely struggling. I thought we played better defense in our first game against Vanderbilt. We knew what they were going to do offensively but we just didn't do anything to stop them. We're not rebounding well enough and turning the ball over too much and we have to get that straightened out. You have to give Wright State credit though because I thought they played well."
(on the team's slow start coming a successful 2003-04 campaign)
"We never played like this before and we're not even close to where we were last year. In practice I think we're doing pretty good and then we come here and it's a different story."
(on Wright State's DaShaun Wood)
"We knew he was going to try to get in the lane and he's averaging 19 points. We just let him get in the lane a little too much.
(on getting a technical in the second half when trailing only by two points)
"I thought the turning point in the game was when we were making a run and I got a technical. It was frustrating because we were right in the game and I just can't put the team in that position."
(on Keith Triplett and Sammy Villegas combining for eight points)
"We're not going to win very many games with Keith and Sammy playing the way they are. They have to score. I didn't think scoring was going to be one of our problem but right now it is. We had decent shots but they just didn't fall for us."
