Rockets Drop 3-0 Decision to Defending MAC Champion Ohio

TOLEDO, OH - Toledo (13-6, 3-5 MAC) suffered a 3-0 (30-26, 30-25, 30-27) setback in Savage Hall today at the hands of defending MAC champion Ohio (14-2, 6-0 MAC).

Junior MB Kelsey Culver was the lone Rocket to reach double figures in kills with 10 and also recorded a team-high .292 attack percentage. Sophomore libero Lora Sarich led the Rockets defensively with 13 digs, while junior MB Corrie Magnus notched a team-high four blocks.

Ohio was led by freshman OH Stephanie Blackburn with a match-high 11 kills with senior setter Briana Adamovsky collecting seven kills and posting a .600 ATK% as well as 31 assists, 10 digs and four blocks.

Toledo was limited to a .087 team attack percentage in the match and was held to under a .100 hitting mark in all three games. UT did limit the Bobcats to a .176 ATK% which was well below their season hitting mark of .272.

"Ohio is the best team in the conference and I thought we stayed with them pretty well," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We just need to limit some of our mistakes and play more consistently."

Toledo returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 19 with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup vs. IPFW at Savage Hall.
