Team Notes:

* Toledo's two-game win streak vs. the Zips was snapped tonight. The loss also kept the Rockets winless (0-4) in Mid-American Conference road games this year.

* UT held Akron's two leading scorers, Derrick Tarver (12 pts.) and Johnny Hollingsworth (15 pts.), nearly 15 points under their combined scoring average. Tarver (22.3 ppg) and Hollingsworth (19.4 ppg) entered the contest averaging a combined 41.7 ppg.

* The Rockets equaled their season low for the second straight game with five three-point field goals made.

* Toledo's eight free throw attempts matched their fewest in a MAC game this season.

* UT's 11 steals were its most in a MAC game and second-best overall this season.

Player Notes:

* Junior guard Keith Triplett notched three steals and has a steal in 14 of his last 15 games.

* Senior guard Nick Moore tallied a team-high 15 points and has led UT in scoring in eight of the Rockets' last nine contests. He now ranks 19th on UT's all-time scoring list with 1,229 points and needs 12 more to move ahead of Phil Martin (1951-54) into 18th place.

* Redshirt freshman guard Sammy Villegas dished out six assists and is averaging 5.1 assists per game in his last nine contests. He is averaging 3.74 assists per game on the season and 4.9 apg in conference games only.
