Toledo, OH - The University of Toledo men's tennis team defeated Eastern Illinois, 4-3, tonight at the Laurel Hill Tennis Club. With the victory the Rockets improve to 4-6 on the season.

In No. 1 doubles action the duo of sophomores Tony Tran and Khalid Al Nabhani defeated EIU's Brandon Blankenbaker and C.J. Weber, 9-7. In No. 2 doubles the team of sophomore Todd Wojtowski and senior Dipesh Rao downed Matt Sadler and Jason Giradin (8-1) to give the Rockets the doubles point.

In No. 1 singles, Rao edged Weber (6-3, 6-4), while Al Nabhani defeated Blankenbaker (6-2, 7-5) in No. 2 singles. Freshman Freddy Gomez collected UT's final win of the night over EIU's Colin Priestner (6-4, 6-1) to secure the Rockets 4-3 victory.

"We weren't that sharp tonight," Toledo Head Men's Tennis Coach AL Wermer said. "We were able to rest some guys which gave other players a chance to get some action."

The Rockets will host Butler on Sunday, Feb. 23 at Laurel Hill Tennis Club. Action will start at 10:00 a.m.
