Box Score

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Sophomore Sammy Villegas sank a 3-pointer with 8.4 seconds left to complete a second-half rally and beat Arkansas State 64-63 Wednesday night.

Toledo (4-0) trailed by 16 at the half, but hit five 3-pointers to make it 63-61 with 16 seconds left. Justin Ingram stole the ball from the Indians' Tevoris Thompson and called timeout. Villegas then nailed a 25-footer for the game-winning basketball off an in-bounds play.

Following Villegas' score, Arkansas State (3-1) passed to Dewarick Spencer, who drove to the right side baseline. Spencer wasn't able to get the shot off as time ran out.

Villegas led the Rockets with 17 points and four rebounds. Ingram followed with 14 points and three assists. Senior guard Keith Triplett was held to a season-low eight points but dished out career-high seven assists.

The Indians were only 12-of-25 on free throws, despite leading the Sun Belt Conference in free throw percentage as a team the last two seasons.

The Indians jumped out to a nine-point lead early in the first half, with Spencer scoring 14 of his 19 points for the night. J.J. Montgomery led with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Tevoris Thompson had 12.
