Toledo, OH -
The University of Toledo men's tennis team fell to DePaul, 5-2, at the Laurel Hill Tennis Club on Saturday.
The Rockets took the doubles point from the Blue Demons, but lost five of the six singles matches. No. 5 singles Mirsad Begic was the only Rocket to win his match. Begic and Cassio Salge also won the No. 3 doubles match, while Dipesh Rao and Todd Wotjkowski captured the No. 1 singles battle.
UT sophomore Tony Tran was forced to withdraw from his singles match due to an injury. Tran was hit directly in the eye by a ball and was taken to Toledo Hospital for a complete examination.
"We had a couple of bright spots, but after the doubles matches I was expecting to do better in the singles," said Coach Al Wermer.
Toledo's next match is Wednesday at Ohio State.
