Women's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At Michigan

ANN ARBOR, MI - Toledo (7-3) suffered a 3-0 (30-17, 30-25, 30-21) setback tonight at Michigan (6-3). It was the Rockets' third consecutive loss after beginning the season with a school-record seven victories.

Seniors Jessica Buck, Natalie Mash and Bitsy Mayhle led UT with seven kills apiece as the Wolverines limited the Rockets to a .073 team attack percentage.

"We didn't get off to a good start in the first game but after that we settled down," UT Head Coach Kent Miller said. "We were very competitive in the second game and in the third game Michigan went on a couple of key runs that we couldn't overcome."

The Wolvernines opened the match by scoring 10 straight points to take a 13-2 advantage. In the second game, UT was able to climb within 25-21 but was unable to get any closer.

Junior Carrie McCaw led the Rockets with 26 assists in her first full match since undergoing offseason knee surgery. Senior Bitsy Mayhle collected a team-high nine digs, while Neumeister led the way with three service aces.

Toledo returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 22 with a 3:00 p.m. exhibition match vs. Western Ontario at Savage Hall. The Rockets open Mid-American Conference play on Friday, Sept. 27 at home vs. Miami.
